Oxford Preparatory Academy is pleased to announce the election of three new members of its Board of Directors, as well as a new Board Chairman. The election took place at the October 26, 2016 meeting after a public call for nominations that began in August, followed by an interview, and election process.
Incumbent Board Member, Mike Delgado, has been named as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors. Two new Board members, Mrs. Neveen Adly and Mr. Alberto Diaz were nominated and voted on to the Board by unanimous decision. Additionally, Mr. Andrew Vestey was appointed to fill the vacancy due to the resignation of former Chairman, Bob Kuhnert. These individuals represent a diversity of backgrounds and talents who will bring their expertise and professionalism to promote, guard, and guide the mission and vision of the school.
Mrs. Neveen Adly’s 25 years of leadership and experiences in strategic and financial planning, financial reporting, and auditing bring valuable expertise to the Board of Directors. In addition to her extensive experience as a leader among global corporations, she has also been involved in the following organizations:
Red Hill Lutheran School Board Member
Board Member at St. Verena Coptic Orthodox Church
Women in Food Service Industry Organization
Women in Health Services Organization
Financial Women in Leadership Group
Big Brother/Big Sister Program – Career Coaching for Youth
Her enthusiasm as a parent of an Oxford Prep-Saddleback Valley student equally matches her excitement at the opportunity to service the next term on the Board of Directors helping our schools continue in excellence.
Mr. Alberto Diaz brings with him 25 years of Information Technology experience as well as 22 years of business ownership and management. In these roles he has gained experience working with teams, coordinating with vendors, negotiating contracts, reviewing financial reports, and more. Additionally, Mr. Diaz is experienced in Board service, Brown Act, and procedural duties, having served on his Homeowners Association Board for 14 years and serving as Board President for the past 10 years.
Mr. Diaz’s commitment to OPA began in May of 2010, after he and his wife attended a Parent Information Meeting. Even though his triplets were not yet old enough to attend OPA, he stepped in to volunteer, devoting years of service to coordinate internet and phone services for the Chino Valley SOC campuses. He is an inaugural Founding member of OPA-Chino Valley.
His most recent contribution was taking the lead at customizing and implementing the Visitor Management System for Chino, and later for the SOC campus.
Mr. Diaz’s service on the OPA Board is a continuation of his love and commitment to our schools. His desire is to contribute his knowledge and experience to keeping the OPA legacy going strong for the many years to come.
Mr. Andrew Vestey is the proud father of three children who attend Oxford Preparatory Academy-Chino Valley. It is with great passion and enthusiasm for OPA that he accepts his position on the Executive Board of Directors.
In his 16 years of service, Mr. Vestey has led a highly decorated career in the public sector. Most notably, he has been named the Police Officer of the Year and was selected as the top Narcotics Investigator in his region. As a four year member of the Board of Directors on the Fontana Police Officers Association, with the last two years serving as President, Mr. Vestey has combined his passion for politics and law enforcement. His passion, work ethic, and community involvement go unmatched as he looks to continue to advocate for OPA and work collaboratively with local governments.
A Master’s degree in Public Administration attributes to Mr. Vestey’s knowledge of public policies and his ability to serve diverse populations. It is his commitment to the future and success of our school, while representing the needs of current OPA families, that make him a most welcome addition to our Board of Directors.
