Earlier today, the Advisory Commission on Charter Schools (ACCS) voted four to three in favor of recommending Oxford Prep-Chino Valley’s appeal to the State Board.
In this case, the majority does not win and we did not receive the official recommendation from the committee because six favorable votes were needed to qualify.
The good news is that we are taking our majority vote with us as we head into the May 11th State Board of Education vote where the final decision will be made.
We are very proud of the hard work and dedication our traveling team of Oxford students, parents, staff, and Board members demonstrated today. They represented our school with dignity and grace and articulated a strong case for renewal.
We are also thankful to the hundreds of families and staff who participated virtually in today’s hearing. Whether you watched at home, at work, or joined us in Honour Hall to view the live stream as a community, your positive thoughts and support made a difference!
Do you have questions about the ACCS hearing and what happens next?
Join us for a hearing recap meeting:
Thursday, April 6th
6:00 PM at Chino Valley’s Honour Hall
Mr. Crowe will host an ACCS hearing recap meeting in Honour Hall on Thursday, April 6th, at 6:00 PM. He will be joined by Oxford community members who participated in today’s hearing in Sacramento.
