Did you hear the exciting news? At the most recent Special Meeting of Oxford Prep’s Board of Directors, the Recognition of Advisory Councils on each campus was approved.
What is the Advisory Council?
The Board is actively seeking the advice of parents, teachers, and staff in many ways through these site-based Councils. When appropriate, the Council will make recommendations on issues or policies related to the successful operation of our school.
Who Can Join the Council?
To ensure representation of all stakeholder groups, the Advisory Council will be comprised of:
- 4 parents/guardians of students attending the school;
- 2 classified staff at the school;
- 2 teachers at the school;
- 1 alumnus; and
- the current ASB president.

How Will the Council be Elected?
Parents/Guardians, Teachers, and Classified Staff:
Members of the Advisory Council will be elected by the vote of a majority of their respective peer group who cast ballots (i.e., parents elected by parents, teachers elected by teachers, and classified staff elected by classified staff). Votes may not be by proxy. Election details will be explained in a later email.
Applications from alumni interested in serving are also being accepted at this time. Alumni are invited to follow the instructions and links as seen above to apply.
The alumni member will be appointed by the Advisory Council to a one year term. A majority vote of the Council will be required if there are multiple alumni candidates.
