OPA’s Renewal Appeal Heads to Sacramento

The California State Board of Education (SBE) will vote on Oxford Prep Chino Valley’s appeal to renew our charter school for 5 more years on Thursday, May 11, 2017.

On May 11th…

A delegation of Oxford of students, parents, staff, and Board members will once again travel to Sacramento, this time to speak before the California Board of Education in the final step in our state-level appeal to secure our renewal and keep our school open.

What to Expect

  • The May 11th hearing will be streamed online through the SBE webcast page. Head to this link to view the live stream once the meeting begins.
  • The SBE will open day two of its meeting at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 11th.
  • Oxford Prep’s appeal will be heard no earlier than 11:00 a.m. according to the posted agenda.

Renewal Update Meetings

Join the Interim Executive Director and Interim Managing Director for a parent update meeting in Chino Valley’s Honour Hall on Monday, May 8th, at 6:00 p.m. to have your questions answered about our state appeal.

We will also hold a recap meeting on Friday, May 12th, at 12:00 p.m. in Chino Valley’s Honour Hall. We hope you will join us.

According to the agenda posted on the California State Board of Education website, Oxford Prep Chino Valley’s appeal will be among the public hearings that will commence no earlier than 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2017. The agenda states that our public hearing will be held as close to 11:00 a.m. as the business of the state board permits.

All Oxford parents are invited to join us in Honour Hall on the OPA Chino Valley campus on Thursday, beginning at 11:00 a.m. to view the hearing as a community.

The meeting will also be live streamed through the SBE website for viewing at your location. A replay of this meeting may not be available immediately following the hearing, however it will be archived on the Department of Education website in the weeks following.
