Court Denies Writ of Mandate for Oxford Prep-Chino Valley

Dear Oxford Families,

Today, Oxford’s team and a room full of supporters, joined by legal counsel, appeared in San Bernardino Superior Court to seek a judicial review of CVUSD’s November 2016 decision to deny our charter renewal.

Despite the heroic efforts of Oxford petitioners to save our Chino Valley school, and after thoughtful and fair consideration, Judge David S. Cohn denied Oxford’s petition for a Writ of Mandate. Oxford’s Writ requested that the court order the district to approve our September 30, 2016 OPA – Chino Renewal Petition, and therefore grant this school five more years to operate.

Judge Cohn’s ruling against the Writ means that Oxford Preparatory Academy Chino Valley’s petition expires and the campus will be closed on June 30, 2017.

A regular meeting of Oxford Prep’s Board of Directors is scheduled for Monday, June 26th at the Chino Valley campus. Closed session will begin at 5:30 PM with Open session planned for as early as 8:30 PM. Please join our team as any next steps are likely to be discussed following closed session of this meeting.
