Oxford Strengthens Fiscal Oversight and Management with Addition of Experienced Chief Business Officer

May 2, 2018 – Oxford Preparatory Academy’s board unanimously approved Oswaldo Diaz as the organization’s new Chief Business Officer. Mr. Diaz has more than 20 years of financial management experience and a proven record of leading organizations’ financial turnaround efforts. Mr. Diaz has recently been operating as interim CBO and controller for two non-profits, including a charter school, where he developed internal financial controls and procedures for organizations with annual budgets exceeding $21 million. Prior to that work, he successfully implemented California State Auditor recommendations for Magnolia Public Schools relating to the organization’s financial insolvency and internal controls. Mr. Diaz achieved clean, unmodified audit opinions, negotiated contract cost savings reducing operational costs by hundreds of thousands of dollars and was responsible for an increase in Magnolia’s bond ratings.

We look forward to welcoming Mr. Diaz as he begins working with us on May 15th helping to lead the 2018-19 budgeting process.
