Dear OPA Families
For this week’s communication, I asked our OPA Chief Academic Officer and Chancellor Amy Kernan to provide us with information about the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) results for our OPA schools.
The 2017-18 CAASPP scores were recently released to the public. The scores can be viewed at https://caaspp.cde.ca.gov. The release was postponed due to rescoring of some of the 8th grade math tests throughout the state.
Overall this year, both OPA campuses did very well, with a majority of students exceeding the standards in both math and ELA. We are very excited about much of the progress that has been made and are continually utilizing assessment results to help improve the learning experiences for all students.
We will be presenting a detailed overview of the CAASPP scores at the Regular Meeting of the OPA Board of Directors on October 25th at OPA-SOC, where we will outline specific areas of success, discuss our ongoing efforts to address areas of need, and examine the progress our students have made in both ELA and mathematics over the past few years.
I hope to see you there or that you join us via live stream.
Executive Director, OPA
