Executive Director Weekly Update 11/30/2018

Dear OPA Families,

We have a lot to look forward to in December.

The 1st Trimester Awards at OPA Saddleback Valley take place on December 3rd – 4th and at OPA South Orange County Campus on December 12th – 13th.  I am looking forward to being with you to celebrate the accomplishments of our champions.

OPA will relocate its Administrative Offices to a location in close proximity to our schools. In addition, Chancellors Lohoff and Kernan have generously dedicated office space on campus so our administrative team can be more accessible and able to participate in campus life.

Administration is working on the remaining MOU items and plans to submit them to Capistrano Unified School District (CUSD) prior to expected deadlines. To learn more, I invite you to attend our MOU Board Committee meeting at SOC on December 5th at 11:30 am.

CUSD has been a true partner in this process, providing clarifications and feedback as we improve our operations with transparency and accountability and become a more student-focused organization. We have entered a new phase in our relationship with both charter authorizers and value their guidance as we strengthen our long term stability and the evolution of our schools.

Chancellors Lohoff and Kernan and I have been updating the OPA Parent/Guardian Handbook and will post it online shortly. We worked with legal counsel to ensure our school policies and procedures are updated to include recent changes in statute and align with our charter petitions.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I will see you soon.

Sincerely,

Jill
