Dear OPA Families,
Happy Friday! I hope your week has been a good one. In order to stay updated, I want
to invite each of you to attend one of our OPA Town Hall meetings that will take place
on our campuses over the next couple weeks. Our goal is to provide our path forward
for OPA schools and gain your valuable feedback in making our schools a model of
academics, culture and operations. Our entire leadership team looks forward to
collaborating with all of you and your continued support is invaluable to our success,
today and into the future. The Town Hall dates and times in February are below:
South Orange County Campus – Wednesday, February 20th at 5:30 pm
Saddleback Valley Campus – Monday, February 25th at 5:30 pm
Next week, OPA leadership will attend Capistrano Unified’s Board Meeting to receive
formal closure of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), clearing the path to submit
our charter renewal on February 27, 2019. Our MOU items have been completed and
accepted by our authorizers so this formal closure moves us forward from a challenging
time in OPA’s history that has provided many valuable learnings.
Our message will be a much more impactful if we continue to act as one voice
represented by our Board and Administrative team. I am asking our community to
please hold off on attending the Capistrano Unified’s Board meetings as a large group
until we have our Public Hearing for charter renewal on March 27th. That will be the
ideal Board Meeting for our community to attend and articulate support for our school.
We all have worked so hard to build relationships with our partners and authorizers to
reach this critical milestone. We have not wavered in our commitment to improvement
and excellence, operationally and academically. As the charter renewal process moves
forward, I am committed to keeping all of you informed. I know you have a choice in
education, and truly appreciate your continued support.
Thank you all for making our OPA community such a special place to learn. I am
thrilled to be a part of this community and I know we all look forward to many years of
growing OPA together.
