Executive Director Weekly Update 3/15/19

Dear OPA Families,

It has been a couple weeks since we connected. This is the time of year our schools begin planning the details for the next school year. Here’s what’s been happening:

In an effort to increase security and assure that student chromebooks are able to run the Smarter Balanced testing software, all chromebooks have been updated with new management software. If your champion wants to use his or her personal chromebook on campus, they will need to bring it to our IT department to be updated.

Part of the installation process requires all applications, photos, etc. to be deleted, or wiped clean, from the Chromebook. In addition, if the management software needs to be removed, the Chromebook will again be wiped clean at that time. We have been updating the software by class, so your child has been sending their personal Chromebook to our IT team with the rest of the class’s OPA Chromebooks.

We have had great response to our Open Enrollment with so many new families attending open houses and participating in this year’s new electronic lottery process. Thank you for spreading the word about the amazing education and community we have at OPA.
